The new tileset Dagogum Cavern is now available for Patreon backers!
I think this tileset is probably my most complex yet.
There are a lot of layers, and 47 terrain tiles! With that many terrain tiles, you can make pretty much any shape you want for your levels. Not to mention… This is my VERY FIRST animated tileset! I’m working on producing some animated GIF versions of it, to show off the motion of the water. Stay tuned to our Twitter and you’ll see them soon!
This tileset was somewhat difficult to make. The stalactites and stalagmites stumped me for a while, and I went through a couple different ideas before settling on what you see below. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make them pointy, or how many should appear together. I’m happy with the way it turned out, though. I put a lot of effort into this one, so I hope you enjoy it! It was also kind of hard to choose a name. In the end I decided on something with simple sounds, almost tribal sounding. The name will fit well with the variant tileset I’m planning, too!
I’ll be editing the Speed Spriting video of this tileset today, and it’ll come out either tonight or tomorrow. Before that comes out, I’ll also post an animated GIF of it on Twitter. Those always turn out really cool, so be sure to stay tuned! (Here’s an example of what the GIF will look like, with a different tileset.
